| Since our team came back from visiting Kamlesh and Ranu Bairwa in Ujjain, India in November of 2008, we have been praying for the birth of their second child. Ranu had some complications about mid-way through the pregnancy, but with bed rest and a less stressful schedule her condition improved.
Originally Kamlesh was scheduled to be in the United States telling their ministry story to different supporters and churches, but once the medical need for him to be at home became obvious, plans were changed. Originally they had expected to do a C-section somewhere between the last week in May and the first week in June. When Ranu's condition worsened they upped the schedule to the first week in May. As the Lord mercifully improved Ranu's health they rescheduled for the last week of May continuing to keep Ranu on bed rest. On the 16th of May Ranu started having contractions and was taken to the hospital for an emergency C-section. The Bairwa's had a second daughter weighing in at six and a half pounds. Ranu did well, but due to some respiratory distress the baby was placed in the neonatal ICU. We received word via Ranu's father that their infant daughter passed away a few days later. We grieve with Kamlesh, Ranu and their 6-year old Kushy who was so looking forward to having a baby sister. We do not understand the Lord's ways, and never will this side of heaven, but we do know that He is in charge and that His purposes will be accomplished. We ask that you lift the entire family up in your prayers. We know that there will be many non-believers watching to see if the families curse the Lord for their loss, but Dr. Jacob has shared the opposite: "The LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD." |
