Evangelism

evangelism
Matthew 28:19-20  "Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you..."

Harvesters International Ministries is deeply involved in the Great Commission; in fact without the desire to share Christ around the globe, we would not exist.  We partner with indigenous ministries who are already established to assist them in reaching out to their own people groups.  We find that this is the most effective and financially responsible way to reach the lost around the globe.  In countries such as Myanmar and India, two of the countries we currently have partners in, we are not permitted to share the Gospel, in fact, it is dangerous enough for our partners to have evangelism outreach.  Romans 10:15 says, "How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, 'HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS'!" If we did not have national partners to be the hands and feet of our Lord, we would not be reaching all nations.

Evangelism takes many forms around the globe as many of the people groups have low literacy rates, so chronological storytelling is the main means to share Christ with the lost.  Some of the people groups do not have written scriptures in their heart language and still others have to walk many miles to get to a place of meeting which may be under a tree or in a secluded room in a person's home.  We here in the US often do not realize the opportunities that we have to share Christ with the lost - we frequently are hindered by fear of rejection and yet we do not face imprisonment, execution or lack of materials.  Our partners are totally sold out for the Lord and put their lives, person comforts and families on the line each and every day to share with those who may never have heard and to plant and water seeds of the truth to a lost and dying world.

It is relatively easy to get people to support orphanages and projects for children, but it is so difficult to supply the evangelists and pastors with their basic needs, and yet they are the ones that have motivated Harvesters to partnership - they are the ones who bring Christ and give hope to those who have nothing else.
